Lead Artist

Manchester, UK, Full Time. £32k-£38k DOE

We are looking for a couple of Lead Artists to managing a wide range of projects from game productions, Unreal Environment and General CG imagery.

As a Lead Artist at CGHero, you will be responsible for leading and managing our freelance artists to deliver on high profile client projects, track the schedules of client projects, manage and work alongside the team members in the Production Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise, plan and organise their own and their teams production work;
  • Be the main contact for a collaborating studio or outsource partner;
  • Discover solutions to problems encountered during productions;
  • Help identify key freelancer and studio to aid in future productions;
  • Review and deliver work in accordance with the projects artistic direction and deadlines;
  • Work with the Production Team to identify and set up best practices and workflows;
  • Report to the Production Manager on the progress of work and any issues relating to the project;
  • Provide constructive feedback on the CGHero Tools to help improve the system;
  • Take part in regular team meetings and updates with the Production Team;
  • Conduct any ad-hoc tasks when required;

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3 years’ minimum experience in Art or any other relevant experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any art-based subject or any other relevant training;
  • Have a good knowledge of 3D applications;
  • Have a good knowledge of project management practices;
  • Have a strong knowledge of production pipelines;
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Have strong leadership, team and people management skills;

Bonus points:

  • Experience using Unreal Engine
  • Experience with CGI rendering for Products Visualisation
